Women are the backbone of the families and communities, they are the bedrock of a nation, they provide care, support and nurturing to their families, and they play a significant role in family and community building.  Therefore, through empowerment, education and training, we can transform the lives of thousands of women and their children living in poverty across Tanzania. Tenebo Enable Africa creates income opportunities to provide life-essentials, including  access to clean water, food, clothing, shelter and education, for their families, and build a more secure and sustainable future.

We believe that it’s better to teach women how to fish, rather than giving them fish, by empowering women to initiate and sustain their own businesses, rather than providing them with handouts which are not sustainable. They are given life skills, financial assistance, and support to help them initiate small business ventures, projects and attain an independence livelihood income and being able to generate revenue for themselves and their families. This economic empowerment helps to break the cycle of poverty and creates a ripple effect of positive change in their communities.
